Hello,

I am Nicola, a registered dietitian with 8 years of clinical experience in the NHS across various settings including GP surgeries, community clinics and hospital wards. I am an advanced specialist in diabetes having worked with several specialist multi-disciplinary diabetes services in London. Clients refer to me as being very knowledgeable and empathetic.

I recently started out as a Freelance dietitian and have undertaken formal talks for pharmaceutical companies as well as nutrition workshops and roadshows. I have a wealth of knowledge and expertise in delivering group education sessions on subjects such as weight management, malnutrition and diabetes remission.

I started my career as a community dietitian in Berkshire, covering general clinics, nursing home visits and community wards. I developed a strong basis in areas such as diabetes, malnutrition, weight management and the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders such as IBS. I worked closely with the catering department to improve the nutritional contents of meals provided on the ward. I soon secured a specialist diabetes role in Surrey, covering GP surgeries, hospital wards and a specialist diabetes service. I saw a wide range of patients including those with mental health problems and eating disorders.

In November 2016, I left the country for 7 months to travel, covering South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Southern Africa. I volunteered for a nutrition project in Cape Town, working with deprived adults and children from Township communities. I supported these individuals through difficult times, providing diet and health education to them in a culturally sensitive manner. I analysed meals and provided advice to schools to help reduce rates of obesity and stunting of which both were prevalent. I also undertook conservation scuba diving and am passionate about the environment and sustainable food.

After returning from my travels, I secured a short-term role as a nutrition support and enteral feeding dietitian, looking after those suffering with malnutrition and those on tube feeds. Since then I have gone on to work for 3 specialist diabetes services around London and am currently working in Wandsworth. It has been a fantastic experience so far!
